PFOS/PFAS are a group of man-made chemicals that persist in the environment. These chemicals have been used for decades in fire retardant foams and other fire fighting sprays, in addition to pesticides, stain resistant products, water resistant clothing, to name a few.
The characteristics that make them useful are the reasons they persist in the environment, which is why they are referred to as 'Forever Chemicals'. But they are harmful to humans and animals.
The patented design of Harmsco Hurricane Cartridges also provides exceptionally fine filtration with minimal pressure drop. This cartridge is rated for 5 microns (nominal).
This cartridge also has the added feature of activated carbon for chlorine reduction.
